As the name Spectra suggests, this patented design introduced by SMV in 2000, offers operators the best possible forward view. By mounting the mast beams from in front of, to alongside the driver, forward visibility is dramatically improved. If an imaginary screen, 3 metres wide by 5 metres high were placed at the fork tips; the operator would be able to see 92% of the screen as opposed to 48% through a conventional mast.
Further, by locating the mast behind the drive axle, results in the weight of the mast assembly acting as a counterbalance rather than a load thus consequently shorter or lighter machines can be supplied.
